Loving Friends
Dianna Marie Boardwine
July 7 1957 - January 20 2017

Dianna Boardwine passed away on January 20th in Sammamish, Washington. Dianna was a devoted mother, a beloved sister, and a loyal friend to many. The second of three children, Dianna was born in Roanoke, Virginia on July 7, 1957, to Warren and Mildred Boardwine.  She grew up in Roanoke Virginia and lived a full and wonderful childhood (Think Andy Griffith!). A natural beauty and runner, she excelled at ballet, and devoted time daily to exercise, socializing and above all being a bundle of energy and joy.

She is survived by her two daughters, Allison and Adrianne; her sister Susan Boardwine Dorsey, brother Roger Boardwine (Mary), and Scotti Hartman (Howard); step-mother Rosemary "Nonnie" Boardwine, along with two nieces Rachel Dorsey Hall and Grace Boardwine, and five nephews, Andrew, John and William Dorsey, and Alex Boardwine.  Dianna was preceded in death by her parents and stepfather Graham Sandridge.

Dianna graduated from North Side High School in the class of 1974, two years early to pursue her goal as a ballerina.  She achieved her goal and danced for the Hartford City Ballet. She went on later to pursue her college degree, graduating from Antioch University in 2008 with a BS in Psychology.  She then began a career working as an educational assistant in the Issaquah School District.  She loved her job and genuinely loved her students.  They were the reason she enjoyed every working day.

Wherever Dianna was something fun was sure to happen.  She was always the life of the party. She was a total jokester, having to get the last laugh on everything, a real prankster. She was a long-time member of The Gourmet Group when living in Minnesota, and Sahalie Ski Club at Snoqualmie Pass, WA, becoming an extended family member with this group of fifty families. She will be greatly missed!

A memorial will be held at Raging River Church on Saturday January 28th at 1:30 pm, 31104 SE 86th St, Preston, WA 98050, with a gathering to follow at Vasa Hall at 10530 324th Pl SE, Issaquah WA (Upper Preston). On Saturday February 4th, there will be a service at 12 pm at Oakey’s Chapel in Downtown Roanoke, Virginia. Burial to follow, where she will be laid to rest beside her mother in Roanoke Virginia, safe in her arms, now and forever.

The family suggests remembrances to the House of Hope, PO Box 40464, Bellevue Washington 98105-4464.
